You've reached the San Francisco Medical Society (SFMS). Founded in 1868, the San Francisco Medical Society is a nonprofit organization that serves the needs of all San Francisco physicians and advances the interests of physicians and their patients through education and the improvement of public health. As an organization, we act as legislative advocates for physicians and their patients, work on many community health programs, sponsor a physician referral service for the public, and provide peer review of complaints and disputes.

SFMS also publishes three regular periodicals: the annual Membership Directory, the monthly e-mail/fax bulletin, Action News, and San Francisco Medicine Magazine, which is published ten times a year.
